My Signature Program Coaching Process
Let's face it - most of us let ourselves off the hook much too easily. We want to change things in our lives or our leadership performance so we make some suggestions, maybe promises, or even commitments to ourselves. We have dreams. We have aspirations. We have desires for greater clarity and better performance. We see or feel a need for growth. When we don't follow through we, as we often don't, we hide out from parts of ourselves so as to not have to acknowledge that we didn't do what we set out to do. We hold back on ourselves and we hold back on others - in our families, our friendships, our workplaces. You deserve more for yourself. As an executive coach or personal life coach, I hear you and see you and want you to be proud of yourself and what you have achieved. I have a firm but gentle hand and hold you accountable to yourself. This allows you to show up fully to yourself and to the rest of the world - personally and professionally. |
So, the coaching process begins with you. It begins with your awareness that there is a growing desire to effect some changes in your life - there is something or things that you want to achieve. You want more for yourself. There are somethings that you want to get clearer about and somethings you want to change. This is the motivation that causes you to seek out a coach.
If we haven't already had an introductory conversation, your first step is to set up a time for us to have a 60-minute Complementary Exploratory Conversation. We want to both feel that there is a “fit” and a mutual “Yes!” to our working together. You can schedule that here. This confidential conversation can take place via the phone or via video-conference. This will give us a chance to meet and discuss why you are looking for coaching at this time and what some of your goals are. You will also learn more about me and how I work with my clients.
You will learn the distinctions between a personal life coach and an executive coach. The distinction is in the primary focus of our work together. Given that my work is holistic and that I will be looking at all areas of your life, there is an overlap in the broad picture. However, if we are doing executive coaching we will be focusing on your leadership and aspects of your career path. We will include looking at how other aspects of your life impact your leadership and your day-to-day work life. If we are doing personal life coaching we will be looking at what you are wanting to create and/or change in your life. We will include looking at how your career factors into the rest of your life. There is an overlap but a distinction in the primary focus. Make sense?
Once we have connected and decided to work together our coaching process begins. Whether you choose the Executive Coaching Signature Program or the Personal Coaching Signature Program we start with some Pre-work and a Foundation Meeting which lasts up to 2 hours. This Pre-work and Foundation Meeting give you structure for exploring your life and career, discovering aspects of yourself and assessing where you would like to initiate change and accelerate growth. This helps me to understand some of your personal and professional goals and aspirations as well as some of your challenges.
During the Foundation Meeting we "deconstruct" so that you see the individual strengths, values, goals and desires that make up who you are and we co-create a vision of what you want. Then together we "reconstruct" based on what you would like to create and achieve in your life and career, based on these parts of who you are - what you want more of, less of, and what you want to achieve and learn.
We then meet for one hour every two weeks for the duration of the program. You have the option of meeting weekly if you would like to accelerate the pace of the program.
We go through the Signature Program taking advantage of your strengths, skills and insights. You will have goals and steps for achieving these goals. I will keep you honest about it - will support you, nudge you, offer questions that reveal you to yourself, celebrate your wins and point out your blind-spots. As your coach, I am your "thinking partner" helping you to get outside of your stories and habitual perceptions to see yourself more broadly. My role is to help you see beyond your blinding fears, inherited beliefs and not-fully baked assumptions that limit possible actions. My goal is to help you to self-reflect, gain new perspectives, discover new solutions and to create and commit to long-term behavioral changes that give you more of what you want in life.
On a regular basis we will re-assess to make sure that what you are achieving and creating is what you truly want and re-calibrate to meet your needs, desires and vision of how you want your career and the rest of your life to be.
