Knowledge is Power
The more we understand something the easier it is to talk about it and to empathize with another person. For too long menopause has been a taboo topic and as a result it is poorly understood both by men and by women themselves. This lack of understanding leads to strong bias in the workplace by managers and co-workers and to fear and embarrassment for women. |
Simple Corporate Policies
that Work Creating a menopause policy in the workplace is not a difficult or expensive process. It makes for a more collaborative environment and a more productive work-force. Having an environment where women can feel heard and understood goes a long way to helping her be more communicative with her team, her peers and her managers. |
Support Means Women
Don't Feel Alone Women often aren't even comfortable talking with each other about their menopause symptoms. Facilitated support groups where women can learn about the symptoms of menopause and how to address them in the workplace are profoundly valuable. Having a time and place for women to talk with and support each other overcomes feelings of isolation. |
